Monday, April 14, 2014, is the Global Day Against Military Spending (GDAMS). The Bay Area New Priorities Campaign invites you to join with over a dozen peace & justice organizations to let our neighbors know that US military spending is more than that of the next 14 countries combined. Does that make us secure? Let’s shift the military budget to meet the needs of our communities — education, housing, green jobs, etc.

We will distribute brochures at BART stations throughout the Bay Area, 7-9 AM and 4-6 PM. If you can participate, contact Stephen McNeil,, (415) 565-0201, ext. 12

Press conference: 11:30 AM, Federal Building, 13th & Clay, downtown Oakland

We will call attention to the fact that military spending, especially the impact of US military spending, stands as the major obstacle to addressing the human needs and environmental crisis facing all of our peoples globally.
